About the author:

My areas of expertise include student-teacher relationships and classroom processes that promote positive academic and social development for young children. I have authored numerous peer-reviewed manuscripts on these topics. This work documents the ways in which early teacher-child relationships and teachers’ social and instructional interactions with children support children’s development and learning and may help close the achievement gap for students at risk of school failure.

What I want to achieve:

I want to help ensure that every young child has access to teachers who provide the social, emotional, and cognitive supports they need to thrive. And it’s also really important to me that early childhood and elementary teachers have access to the supports they need to be able to be effective in the classroom.
