About the author:

I examine how well children can remember and describe their experiences to adults, and the impact of how adults question and interact with children on what the children report.

What I want to achieve:

I would like to support forensic interviewers in conducting high quality and developmentally sensitive interviews with vulnerable children, so that the children have the best opportunity to tell what they know. Good interviews are critical for improving the chances of maltreated children accessing care and protection, and for reducing the chances that a vulnerable child will remain in an unsafe environment, or an innocent adult is falsely accused and convicted of child abuse.
