Julie Sarama
Professor, Kennedy Endowed Chair in Innovative Learning Technologies, and co-Director, Kennedy Institute for Educational Success and Marsico Institute for Early Learning and Literacy, Morgridge College of Education, University of Denver, USAAbout the author:
I conduct research on young children’s development of mathematical concepts and competencies, implementation and scale-up of educational reform, professional development models and their influence on student learning, and implementation and effects of software environments (including those I have myself created) in mathematics classrooms.
What I want to achieve:
I have worked with teachers to build their own confidence and delight in mathematics and to understand and use Sarama and Clements’ research-based learning trajectories to develop educational environments for young children. I want teacher and child care workers in every context and every culture to have the tools and resources they need to appreciate and nurture positive feelings and creative knowledge about mathematics.
