My research combines developmental science and prevention science. The developmental science emphasizes the complex, multi-level, interactive nature of the pathways shaping children’s development. The prevention science aim to intervene to change key mechanisms and characteristics of settings which underlie children’s developmental pathways. My work includes basic developmental research and the design of programs and pedagogy that integrate social-emotional and academic learning.
