About the author:

I am interested in how cognition and behavior develops in harsh and unpredictable conditions. I focus on hidden talents, abilities that are enhanced through adversity, and reasonable responses, behaviors that can be understood as a response to the costs and benefits associated with living in poverty.

What I want to achieve:

I would like to contribute to a well-rounded picture of people living in harsh and unpredictable conditions, which acknowledges both strengths and weaknesses.

Awards & accomplishments:

I have received funding from the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research, the James S. McDonnell Foundation, and the Jacobs Foundation.
