About the author:

My research interests center on developmental psychopathology, prenatal/early life stress, and resilience mechanisms. I investigate how adverse and stressful experiences during pregnancy and early childhood influence mental health and development, with a focus on identifying protective factors that can be leveraged for prevention and early intervention. My research team combines mobile health (mHealth) technology with traditional laboratory methods to study these processes beginning in the prenatal period.

What I want to achieve:

I aim to transform how we understand and support children’s mental health by focusing on early identification and prevention rather than waiting until problems emerge. Through my research, I hope to develop accessible, culturally responsive interventions that can be implemented during pregnancy and early childhood—critical periods of neuroplasticity when preventive approaches may have the greatest impact. By training the next generation of diverse clinical scientists and mental health providers, I also hope to contribute to a more representative workforce capable of meeting the mental health needs of families in our communities.
