About the author:

My research interests include culturally relevant assessment of developmental milestones; cultural models of child development; multiple approaches to and perspectives on early learning and socialization; enhancing sustainability and cultural relevance of early childhood interventions as well as public policy on early childhood development and care. The primary settings of my focus are Africa and Indigenous Peoples in Africa and the rest of the world.

What I want to achieve:

I focus my work on attempting to provide alternative child development models and other general developmental models that can inform the assessment of developmental milestones that truly reflect growth in the broad sense. I wish to also ensure that early childhood interventions become more sustainable and reflect the needs and aspirations of children, parents, and community in Indigenous settings and/or low- and middle-income countries.
