The World Association for Infant Mental Health (WAIMH) and the Child and Family Blog are forming a partnership to develop new ways of communicating child development knowledge to parents and caregivers of infants (0-3).
We invite child development researchers and community builders to complete the survey and help us to choose topics that will be of value to parents.
We are developing topic-specific global networks of researchers and community builders from vastly different communities. We will:
Communication with parents can only take place within the communities they inhabit. Every community is different – how to present child development, what communication channels to use, and who is best to communicate the messages.
The global networks will be communities of mutual learning and co-production, with no hierarchy. They will be social networks.
Participation in a global project like this can be a help to people working within communities. The international connection may confer an additional source of legitimacy when seeking funds and political support. We will also work in the networks to raise funds for community projects.
We are running a survey to ask child development researchers and community builders all over the world what topics we should build the first networks around.
