Ana Kozina

She/her

Senior Research Associate, Associate professor and Head of Evaluation Studies Centre at Educational Research Institute, Ljubljana, Slovenia

About the author:

My research is focused on the field of developmental and educational psychology and put into a broader context of educational research. I focus on the role of relationships in education with an emphasis on social and emotional competencies (development and implementation of interventions in national and international context). I have expertise in leading policy experimentation projects supporting social, emotional and diversity awareness competencies in schools across Europe.

What I want to achieve:

I want my research to support relationship in the classroom in the direction where all children and youth would feel included, supported and safe to reach their full potential and for the society to reach its full potential as »The classroom today is the society tomorrow«.  I aim to do that by promoting and supporting social and emotional processes together with diversity awareness in schools. Since learning and teaching is an extremely social and emotional process where diversity, if recognised, is embraced at every step, I believe that giving support for children, youth and their teachers to develop social and emotional competencies and diversity awareness is the key to not simply shaping the positive relationships of living and learning together in classrooms but also in living and learning together in society.
