I focus my research on ways to enhance positive child and adolescent development within family, school, and community contexts. My areas of interest include parenting practices, racial-ethnic identity, youth empowerment, and preventative interventions.
What I want to achieve:
My hope is that parents can find more positive ways to work with their children as this supports better child development trajectories. My research aims to counter arguments used to hold on to harsh forms of discipline, especially spanking, and to support parents who choose to use positive parenting practices.
