About the author:

My research broadly explores how children’s early emotional environments shape socioemotional and cognitive development. More specifically, I have studied the development of emotion perception in infancy, and the impact of early life experiences on emotion perception over time. I also study the specific impacts of positive and negative emotional input on the development of adaptive (e.g., empathy) and maladaptive (e.g., extreme fears) behaviors in early childhood.

What I want to achieve:

I hope to ultimately use research to inform families, educators, and policy makers on the best practices for shaping children’s healthy socioemotional and cognitive development.
