About the author:

I am interested in the role of father-child relationships in protecting children’s mental and physical health. I also do basic research on young children’s cognitive and social-cognitive development.

What I want to achieve:

I have worked with all stakeholders at the state level in Arizona to translate knowledge about father-child relationships into evidence-based social policy for divorced and never-married parents. This resulted in 2013 legislation establishing a de facto presumption for equal parenting time and decision-making. I advise other countries (Canada, Japan, Denmark) and US states on similar legislation.
