My research focuses on the factors that contribute to children’s development of behavior problems. My interest is in understanding differences among children with behavior problems so we can develop more effective approaches to treatment and understand how different treatments may work for different kids.
What I want to achieve:
Children with behavior problems elicit frustration and anger from adults, who are often inclined to respond with increased disciplinary actions. This can mean that these children tend to alienate the very individuals in their lives that they need support from. It is my hope to help both parents and teachers recognize that these children may have a clinical disorder that requires more empathetic support and positive disciplinary approaches.
